Grenz.land – Extended (2021)
MV Interventionen im öffentlichen Raum

Grenz.land – Extended deals with the phenomenon of borders in our society today – not only as a geographical separation between nation states, but also within one’s own country. The 60-minute dance performance enables insights into the debate of belonging, exclusion and boundaries. Feelings with which „newcomers“ in particular are confronted.

The international and interdisciplinary collective project emerged from the collaboration between 12H Dance (DE / AR / KOR), Albrecht Ziepert (DE), Erato Tzavara (GR) and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It is designed for public spaces. Based on interviews with people from different generations and origins, the piece aims to make the individual journeys of these people and their encounters with borders tangible for the audience.

Grenz.land – Extended is a new version of the TANZPAKT Stadt-Land-Bund project Grenz.land produced in 2020 as part of Vorpommern tanzt an – movin‘bröllin. In August 2021, the new version will travel through five different cities in Mecklenburg Western Pomerania (Rostock, Schwerin, Neubrandenburg and Wismar) and perform in public spaces.
