Germany lifts travel ban from India fully vaccinated people won’t be quarantined

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

As India battled the second Covid-19 wave in April-May, Germany had banned entry for travellers from India under preventive measures.

There is good news coming in as the German ambassador to India, Walter J Lindner, announced on Tuesday that Indians who have had both doses of the World Health Organization-approved vaccine, will not be quarantined on their arrival in Germany.

Germany, a key trade partner of India, has opened the door from Wednesday for Indians vaccinated with the locally made Covishield vaccine.

This was done after Germany reclassified India as „high-incidence areas,“ downgraded from the ‚virus variant countries‘ listing.

With the fall academic session commencing soon, this is great news for Indian students who are pursuing their education or planning to study in Germany.

This also means that Indian professionals travelling to Germany on a work Visa or a job seeker visa will be permitted to enter the country.
