January 05, 1934 – September 29, 2022

The future is foretold from the past and the future is only possible because of the past. Without past and future, the present is partial. All time is eternally present and so all time is ours. There is no sense in forgetting and every sense in dreaming. Thus the present is made rich.

Morton Edward Aronson, 88, passed away on September 29, 2022, at Manatee Memorial Hospital.

Born in Chicago, Illinois on January 5, 1934, he was the son of Carl and Tillie Aronson. He graduated from Roosevelt University with a degree in Philosophy. He was employed by the Social Security Administration for forty years, retiring as a Security Analyst at the Regional Office.

Mort was best known for his passionate nature, quick-witted humor and generosity. He loved to travel, experiencing new cultures and the arts, and took great pleasure in enjoying his dessert.

He is survived by his wife of forty years, Vicki; his nephews Martin Aronson (Mary) and Bruce Aronson (Daphne); his sister-in-law, Joyce Godar; his nieces, Megan Godar and Carlyn Doyle (Brian); and his great-nieces and great-nephews. He is predeceased by daughter, Whitney Shanahan.

The graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at 3 pm at Sarasota Memorial Park, followed by a celebration of life dinner.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Morton’s memory to the Anna Maria Island Turtle Watch, your local homeless shelter, or a charity of your choice.
