FLASHBACK: 1988-01-30 / January 30th, 1988

This week’s Flashback Video brings us back 34 years when the UK Charts were led by an American songstress with her first and only #1 song in the country. The song originally was released in the late 60s but never charted in the UK then. Meanwhile in the USA an Australian band reached the top spot with their biggest hit and only charttopper in the country. Unfortunately the frontman of the group passed away almost 10 years later. And in Germany another cover topped the charts, this one originally released in the early 70s became a huge hit for a very popular American Rock’n’Roll singer. In this version for a synth-pop duo it became their 2nd #1 single. They added 2 more during their career.
