A big overhanging load with not enough available space for safety. Daunting even for a hardened road safety activist used to crossing this narrow pavement space nominally designated a 30mph limit in the face of oncoming vehicles of all sorts at speeds up to almost 70mph. This driver was obviously very mindful of the potential danger of this scenario (unlike many half crazed ferry arrivals) and had slowed to virtual halt but bottom line is it’s no place for such loads passing as a matter of routine and is a most scary part of the entire village active travel experience. Totally frightful really. But that’s the uncaring Scottish Government for you.
