Welcome to Eurovision This Week! This is your update of 9 February 2021.

Lithuania had their National Final and The Roop was announced the winner and will therefore represent Lithuania at Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam with the song Discoteque.

26-year-old Jendrik Sigwart from Hamburg will represent Germany this year.

Ukrainian broadcaster UA:PBC announced that Go_A will perform ’Shum’ in Rotterdam.

Sad news from Hungary. Lead singer of AWS, Örs Siklósi has died. AWS represented Hungary in 2018 with the song Viszlát Nyár.

The organizers of the Eurovision Song Contest will continue the preparations for the contest with determined yet realistic plans for May. It was announced that scenario A, a Eurovision Song Contest taking place like normal, would not be possible in May. The organizers will now focus their efforts on scenario B.
