-„Hawaiian Electric offers cash incentive for adding energy storage to rooftop solar.“
Katherine McKenzie
-Fossil fuel use and resulting emissions from passenger and freight vehicles were quantified for Oahu,
-2020 average passenger EVs consumed 7 times less fossil & cut emissions 50%.
-Mathematical models of 4 scenarios based on projections EVs and freight vehicles, and renewable power generation.
-By 2050, faster adoption of EVs & faster generation of renewable energy will result in 99% less fossil fuel consumed and 93% less CO2 emissions from passenger and freight vehicles on Oʻahu, (under the most ambitious scenario in the study).
-Scenarios intended as examples to assist stakeholders to better understand future uncertainties, develop strategies, and inform policy development.
-Shift needed to energy efficient modes of travel—ie bicycling, walking and public transit, reducing vehicle miles traveled ( smart” city planning and remote work).
