개인전 „키친“, 공간 파도, 서울, 2021

7일동안의 실험
매일매일 하나의 드로잉, 또는 페인팅을 완성한다.
내가 살아온 시간 위에 파도 공간에서의 감각이 쌓인
레이어로 이뤄진 7개의 그림이 전시 기간 내, 오픈 시간 내 전시장에서 만들어진다.
전시이자 동시에 작업의 과정인 이 전시, 시도는 개인전, 오픈스튜디오, 기획전, 퍼포먼스, 그 어느 범주에도 완전히 포함되지는 않는다.

집에서 파도로 가는 길에 본 전단지나 인상 깊게 본 사람의 옷에 있던 패턴, 간판, 나무일수도,
전시장에 놓인 벽이나 바닥이 될 수도 있다. 즉, 파도라는 특정 공간 안에 있기 때문에 만들 수 있는, 일종의 여행 기록으로서의 회화이다.

기획자의 상호 간 믿음 아래 7일씩 전시장 공간을 이용하는 과정이 작가에게 승인되는 시스템이 흥미롭게 다가온다.

전시공간과 작가, 작품, 전시 기획자, 그 외 전시가 굴러갈 수 있도록 필요한 지킴이 인력, 전시 중 방문하는 관객, 알고리즘, 방명록, 좋아요와 댓글, 그 많은 전시를 구성하는 요소들이 있지만,
Essential한 것이 있다면 작업이 만들어지기 위한 공간과 시간이라고 느껴진다.
현장성/주어진 시간과 공간의 제약과 그와 반면에 무한하게 느껴지는 가능성을 동시에 생각한다.

7 days experiment
During the exhibition period of 7days, everyday I completed one drawing or painting.(whether or not successful)
Seven paintings made up of layers created by accumulating sensations in the wave space on top of the time I have lived in are created in the exhibition hall while pasting the exhibition period and opening hours.

This attempt, which is both an exhibition and a process of work, is not completely included in any of the categories of solo exhibitions, open studios, special exhibitions, and performances.

It could be a leaflet I saw on the way from home to the waves, a pattern, a signboard, or a tree on the clothes of someone I was impressed with.
It could be a wall or floor placed in an exhibition hall. In other words, it is a painting as a kind of travel record that can be made because it is in a specific space called waves.

The system in which the artist is approved for the process of using the exhibition space for 7 days each under the mutual trust of the planner is interesting.

There are elements that make up the exhibition space, artists, works, exhibition planners, and other guards necessary for the exhibition to run, audiences who visit during the exhibition, algorithms, guestbooks, likes and comments, etc.

If there is something essential, it is felt that it is the „space“ and „time“ for the work to be made.
Also, I considered the limitations of the given time and space, while the possibilities that feel infinite on the other hand.
