For years in capacity as a photo instructor for Lindblad and National Geographic Expeditions, Steve Morello has always told people that they were fortunate to be able to travel to the many incredible destinations they would visit, but that should always keep in mind that every one of us lives in a destination. Steve spoke of the many photographic opportunities we could find right in our own backyards. Enter the age of the pandemic, and the need to isolate from others. Traveling abruptly stopped, not just for Steve but for all of us. This program is about Steve’s journey of discovering where he lives through the lens of his cameras. It is about practicing what he preached and bringing to light the extraordinary in the ordinary things Steve saw everyday. It is about being where Steve is and opening his eyes, his imagination, and rediscovering his craft.

Speakers

Steve Morello
Steve is an award-winning photographer, writer, and storyteller. His career has taken him throughout most of the world, and he has experienced many ecosystems. He has documented images for publications and organizations such as National Geographic, The New York Times, World Wildlife Fund, Travel & Leisure Magazine, Ranger Rick Magazine, Stern Magazine, and Popular Photography, to name a few.

Besides his love of making images, Steve has a passion for sharing his skills with those who wish to learn the craft of photography. His emphasis is on making photos that tell stories and bringing the viewer into the life of the images they create. He resides in North Berwick, Maine, and is the owner of Little River Photo Workshops, where he teaches one day workshops on nature photography.
