For the last 75 years, Darien Sport Shop has served as a landmark shopping destination in Fairfield County. Located less than an hour from Manhattan, “the sport shop” (as it is affectionately known throughout the area) offers the local community a one-stop shopping destination for the whole family. Founded in 1946 by Steve Zangrillo, the sport shop started as just a one-room sporting goods store, but quickly evolved and expanded into a multi-level specialty department store. A natural with customers and a studied merchant, Mr. Z started his store with a simple philosophy: treat your customers like they are old friends, and they’ll keep coming back.Under the leadership of Gina Zangrillo, Mr. Z’s daughter, this industry-renowned institution continues to feature the newest and most exciting brands in fashion. We’re proud to feature some of the finest clothing brands in the industry such as Faherty, Peter Millar, Kinross, Theory, Vince, Johnnie-O & more.But we take the most pride in our relationships with our customers.
