Richar “Danny Twelvetree” Daguerre is not a Chicago rapper. He’s an artist heavily influenced by his experiences as a world traveler. Born to West Indian parents, Danny considers himself a hybrid artist who infuses his concept as a world citizen and background as a Chicago native, to create music that impacts listeners who are “just living life.” Deeply inspired by travel and family, Danny created the moniker, Danny Twelvetree, during a trip to Europe where he was visiting an uncle in the military.

Garnering inspiration from greats like Nas, Cassidy, and Kendrick Lamar, Danny has always had a reverence for battle rap; he got his start while writing, rapping, and making beats at high school lunchroom tables. He went on to record and release some of his first songs on his debut album, For the Win. Typical of Chicago artists, Danny’s music possesses a level of authenticity that is unmatched, yet his flows are effortless and natural to the person who he is.
