Crow’s Nest
An Urban Indian Princess Story of Hope

Redemption, if only in her last breath. A remembering told through the eyes of the one who survived. A story of courage. Nothing lost. Everything gained in the moment. The result of witnessing the care shared on the edge and the visions that bring us Home. Inspired by the legend of Chiwid, the Tsilhqot’in woman who fled abuse and survived on the land, dreaming of entering the body of an animal to keep warm at night. Crow’s Nest’ tells the fictional story of Blue, Rose and the Thunderbeing that Blue encounters at the end of her life.

Created and performed by Anishnaabe choreographer Olivia C. Davies’ and Coast Salish Sahtu-Dene storyteller Rosemary Georgeson with aerialist, Emily Long. Set to a hypnotic, original score by Michael Red with Rosemary’s live storytelling, these three figures honour the ghosts of women who travel to the edge in search of refuge.
