For CASA LAB, Patricia presents: ‘Cosmovisión’, her first audiovisual performance depicting an origin story, natural enchantment and the crossings existing between the wilderness and concrete jungles.

Arama (they/them) is a fictional character, created and impersonified by Colombian artist Patricia Doors, that draws on indigenous forms of knowledge and universal systems to build porous and enchanting sonic-scapes. They use binaural beats, samples taken from natural and built environments, synthesis techniques and other sonic tools to explore the interdependencies between species through an imaginary journey.

About the artist:

Patricia Puertas Torrado aka Patricia Doors is a London based Colombian sound artist with interests in the space between lush wild natural environments and urban landscapes. Through her performances she metamorphoses between identities that travel geographically, straddle genres, decolonize and queer the understandings of her body.

Patricia’s research has explored the healing qualities of rhythm in adolescents with autism, and in the underground art scene in London, she has founded a cross-disciplinary arts and science event based collective called SENSE, and an audiovisual band called The Loose Association of Cinema & Sound. She also hosts monthly radio show Kasmik Flow on Netil Radio, playing eclectic sets that build sonic landscapes.
