Connecting Immigration Law With Esports

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

Even though she was born and raised in America, our guest, Hiba Anver, found out early in her life that looking different from the rest of the kids was enough to be treated differently and have a particular set of rules applied to her. Daughter of Pakistani immigrants, Hiba grew up with the feeling of having one foot in each world and a different perspective on how minorities were treated.

Being so empathetic since she was a child would define who she would become and her career.

Hiba Anver is a Shareholder at Erickson Immigration Group, GWU Law Adjunct Faculty, Co-Founder of Immigration Nerds Podcast, and was recently named Business Insider’s top immigration attorneys for start-ups. Hiba is also an experienced Law lecturer and a passionate anti-bullying advocate.

In this episode, we delve into Hiba’s journey of becoming an attorney, specializing in immigration law, and eventually connecting with esports. We discuss Hiba’s perspective on how immigrants and other minorities are treated and their job and career opportunities. We talk about the impact Covid had on the industry, how it affected and changed some rules, and how companies and stakeholders navigate international travel restrictions to organize events and tournaments.
