Laura’s university thesis question: How can Hip Hop and Colombian fashion be part of the fight against racism that Afro-Colombians live? The project seeks through art and culture to enhance the graphic and musical powers and fashion-based codes of Hip Hop as a form of expression against racism and its various repressions over the years. In a country like Colombia, where colonization and its ideas were established in the subconscious of the human being, racism is something that is evident and is experienced in daily society. ‘Color Piel’ wants to invite the society to decolonize and reconstruct social imaginaries through fashion and hip hop and respect themselves for the richness of being different.
