Christmas Flashmob – Melissa Hodgins

From Bonnie Schwab – Organizer: Melissa Hodgins is my neighbor has been a close friend for 15 years. We became friends doing neighborhood activism activities, but our shared passion for the outdoors made us travel buddies. Melissa and her wife, Tricia Sampson, have lived in Maplewood for 18 years. Melissa was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2017 and had a recurrence in 2020, which she’s currently undergoing treatment for. Melissa was a 4th grade teacher at Charles H. Bullock Elementary School in Montclair for 8 years but had to retire this year due to her ongoing treatment.
