Can (No) Social Media Hurt Your Career?

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

Social media for the modern artists: To Be? Or Not To Be? This week’s question is a good one:

Do you think a social media presence has or is going to become a primary resource for casting directors? Could not having a constant presence hurt anyone’s career?
-Richard DeFonzo

Social media is a two-way communication channel: most like the telephone. It helps you quickly share and receive information.

Social media also helps you get discovered: casting and creatives are going to YouTube, Facebook, Instagram to research you AND your work. Beyond your craft, they’re looking at who you are: what you’ll be like in the rehearsal room, travel/housing arrangements, and how you might express yourself in press interviews.

My recommendation is that you show up and direct to website! Collect followers on channels you’re not active on:

Clubhouse → profile directing to website.
TikTok → directing to website and Instagram.
Patti Lupone on Instagram → Official Website

Reserve your name and lead your audience where you want them to go and help control what they see!
