Calla

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

We got the assignment from Vilt aan Zee to make a panel using wool felt to reduce sound reverberation. Calla is an acoustic art panel that is designed to reduce the sound reverberation in a room, allowing people to relax in a calm setting. Combined with LED lightning which creates a soothing ambience in the room. Our product also takes sustainability into account. Calla acoustic art panel is made of a wooden frame, filled with Rockwool, which absorbs sound, and covered with wool felt that is 3D shaped by hand. The backside of the panel is covered with a linen cloth which makes it easier for sound to travel through the panel, along with the air gap behind the panel that allows the sound to bounce of the wall and travel through the Rockwool a second time for greater sound absorption. The aim was to combine art with functionality.
