Gokul Medh is an archaeological site excavated in Gokul village under Bogura Sadar police station. It was built between approximately 7th century AD and 12th century AD. It is said that Behula lived here. However, according to current researchers, this monument is a Buddhist monastery built by Devpal between 809 and 847 AD. There are 172 triangular rooms. A gold leaf with the portrait of a bull was found here along with a small stone fragment with many holes. From this, it is assumed that it was a square-shaped Shiva temple. Famous travelers Ibn Battuta and Hiuen Tsang mentioned it as a Buddhist monastery in their travel stories
