“Black Diamond Trail Connection!” Walk in the Park episode 257

FESCH.TV INFORMIERT:

“It’s just down the trail!” said Fred Bonn, Regional Director for the Finger Lakes State Park Region at the ribbon cutting at the Museum of the Earth on September 10. It was the fulfillment of a dream to connect the Museum with the Black Diamond Trail, the “rails-to-trails” route between Cass Park in Ithaca and Taughannock Falls State Park. Warren Allmon, director of both the Museum and the Cayuga Nature Center said that it “totally makes sense” that now you can walk or bike between these two natural history museums via this route through nature and without taking a car.
In this episode of Walk in the Park (257), we speak with Allmon and Bonn and look at this new half-mile path downhill to the “BDT.” Then we travel back six years to an interview with the late Andresj Ozolins, a leading advocate for the BDT, on the day of the trail’s official opening in 2016. Look for the surprise appearance of Fred Bonn on his bicycle!
We complete this episode with the most recent short episode of “The Treman Show,” at Robert H. Treman State Park, entitled “Detour through Stone.” Treman Park is the planned eventual southern destination for the Black Diamond Trail.
