Berlinale Talents 202: Tushar Prakash – FESCH.TV

Berlinale Talents 202: Tushar Prakash & FESCH.TV:

Tushar Prakash – A film maker from India is striving hard to queer the boundaries between gender and nationality. Living in Estonia since 2020, Tushar is also pursuing Masters in Folkloristics and Applied Heritage Studies.

Through his documentary Karma Killings, he says he tried to understand India at a deeper level where class and caste play a huge role in the society. Tushar’s film which was acquired by Netflix showed India as a country that could produce true crime drama.

Tushar believes that social, cultural and political awareness is important for a film maker. His documentary film Colored speaks about the impact of Europe’s fast fashion on India.

He was also the Editor for Smoke Sauna Sisterhood, which won the best film award at the Sundance festival.

Here’s the journey of Tushar Prakash from his first film to his inner self and here he is a part of Berlinale Talents 2024.
