Ballo De Montova- Italian Jewish Renaissance Dance – FESCH.TV

Ballo De Montova- Italian Jewish Renaissance Dance & FESCH.TV:

Our interpretation of what might have been an Italian Jewish Dance in the 1600’s.
The yellow circle on our costumes , meant to be a zero-O- to signify the Jewish people’s worth in the government’s evaluation, was required by law for Jewish people to wear. Later, red hats, and hats in the shape of a cone or dunce hats – but not bright red, as that
would be for the Catholic Cardinals- was another way of identifying Jewish people.
During the Holocaust, Hitler used this piece of fashion history to require Jewish people to wear the yellow star of David.
The color choice by the Nazis and the Italian government was not random- it was meant to be a putrid yellow.
