The view from the marquise of the house extends for kilometers with no other visual barrier than the morning fog that often accumulates around the D. Luís bridge in Porto.
This view is photographed several times, recording the variations in the light occurring during the day. A Praise of Rouen Cathedrals, Monet’s Paintings.
Thus, the atmospheric variations of the landscape are demarcated by the Sun in the time it takes it to travel across the sky. Our ocular retina retains and adapts to these variations.
