Agente Costura-Making Music Out of Making Clothes by Lisa Sison – FESCH.TV

On Tuesday, 25 May at 11:30am PST Lisa Simpson joined the Wearable Narratives DRG for an artist talk about her project ‚Agente Costura‘.

Performed with sewing machines turned into noise boxes, Agente Costura’s improvisations are based on stitching and mending. The repetitiveness of an amplified machine is layered with melodic features of self-made wearable electronic instruments, talking hats and musical handbags, oscillating, and feedback machines.

Lisa Simpson has a Bachelor degree in Visual Arts from Universidade Tuiuti do Paraná, a Master of Applied Arts degree from Emily Carr University of Art and Design, and is currently enrolled in the Art in Context program at Universität der Künste Berlin. She has performed extensively on an international level, including Goethe Institut Jakarta, Schneidertempel Istanbul, The Vancouver Art Gallery, the Month of Performance Art- Berlin, Museum der Fünf Kontinente Munich, the Bimhuis Amsterdam, Curitiba Fashion Week, among others. Lisa currently lives and works in Berlin, she performs solo and in different constellations of artists, musicians, dancers, and curious audiences.
