Accentuate the Positive – FESCH.TV

In this short video, I look to bring to light the positive efforts that are currently being made by consumers and brands to lessen the overall detrimental effects of the fashion industry. I break down three areas in which these efforts can be seen. I begin with the use of natural dyes over synthetic dyes, and how that is helping to lessen water pollution. I then discuss the exploration of alternative textiles by brands, such as Reformation, and what that looks like. Finally, I focus on consumers choosing to shop second-hand. With this in mind, the guiding principle I chose to explore was sustainability. I feel that the more awareness brought to the topic of sustainability within the fashion industry, the better. With the main character, Gail guiding the viewer, along with bright supporting images, Accentuate the Positive is a quick, educational watch that aims to inspire sustainable practices for all.
