8 minutes, 19 seconds is the time it takes for light to travel the distance between the sun and the earth. When we look at a star, we are actually looking at its past, just like when we look at a photograph. Light and time are the raw materials of this photographic series, the ingredients that mix and strengthen in an expressive medium whose essence belongs to it.
A light and a time flow in which we all are ourselves submerged, where reality passes urgently without allowing us to be aware of each moment, where the next moment makes us forget the present. We only have photography as the unique tool to stop this incessant flow. It serves as a record of a reality to which we return calmly to be able to think about it, to be able to feel it.

8 minutos, 19 segundos es el tiempo que precisa la luz para recorrer la distancia entre el sol y la tierra. Cuando observamos una estrella, en realidad estamos contemplando su pasado, al igual que cuando miramos una fotografía. Luz y tiempo son las materias primas de esta serie fotográfica, los ingredientes que se mezclan y fortalecen en un medio expresivo cuya esencia les pertenece.
Una luz y un paso del tiempo en el que todos nos vemos sumergidos, donde la realidad transcurre apremiante sin permitirnos ser conscientes de cada momento, donde el siguiente instante nos hace olvidar el presente. Sólo nos queda la fotografía como única herramienta para detener este flujo imparable. Nos sirve de registro de una realidad a la que volver con sosiego para poder pensarla, para poder sentirla.
