It’s a wrap for the 3rd CHINATOWN ARTS WEEK! This year, our festival celebrating the cultural richness of Manhattan’s Chinatown was a hybrid of in neighborhood and online programs. All in person programs were safely held outdoors — taichi and Chinese fan dance workshops were held outdoors in parks, the Min Opera in Shadow (a shadow puppet piece) and MoonSquare art exhibit was displayed through windows, and the video “Grand Rising” a fashion story by Black Gotham was projected street-side. Taking advantage of being online, we took the opportunity to highlight virtual events from Chinatowns around the continent. Now more than ever, it’s been so important to create art and get “together” to celebrate our neighborhood.

Chinatown Arts Week 2020 is curated by Yin Kong & Amy Chin, with essential support from T!C team members Rochelle Kwan, Ali Smith Gong & Sally Hong.
