HER was inspired by the female characters in classic Hong Kong movies, the film tells the story of a girl who opens different blind boxes and enters different character scenes. A series of absurd „battles“ are taking place.
The film shows various pressures faced by women with an absurd and surreal „eradication action“. The girl pulled out different blind boxes from the machine, which let her enter different roles to „destroy the shadow men“. Shadow men represent the pressures we face in the real world. In this film, the girl is gaining mysterious power. She beat the surrealist “shadow men” heartily, but finally found that the pressure, represented by the “shadow men” is herself, thus the film wants to show the importance of obtaining a positive and balanced mentality in the face of pressure.
